From initial concept to final product and its disposal, we always consider the entire lifecycle of our activities to make sure we protect our planet, save resources and safeguard our next generation’s quality of life. It is based on this conviction that we maintain an Environmental Management System as per ISO 14001:2015, which covers all our processes while providing support and guidance in acting and improving in four key areas:

Resource Management

Saving resources is a core element of our product design process, in line with our Evergreen Technology approach. In designing and building our products, we take great care to ensure low energy consumption and a high share of recyclable materials. But we don’t stop there. Regular energy efficiency audits conducted by official auditors motivate us to keep improving our resource consumption on all corporate levels.

Our commitment to intelligent resource management runs through all our day-to-day routines and activities: whether in the form of heat pumps in our production facilities, in our offices or at our EV charging terminals, which is operated by our own photovoltaic system to energise our company fleet. Where resource management is concerned, we have a clear goal: full energy autarchy. It’s that goal that keeps motivating us every step along the way.

Waste Management

It’s thanks to Commend Evergreen Technology, which stands for longevity, our products and systems stay compatible with latest technology for decades, all the while helping to reduce electronic waste.

At the same time, we adhere to the highest waste management standards. We take great care to separate and recycle our industrial waste to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible.

Supply Chain
Management

Our supply chain management is based on our conviction that ensuing short delivery routes is essential to saving environmental resources. It’s a key focus and deciding factor in choosing our suppliers, and we prefer to source our components and services locally whenever possible.

Keeping to this strategy has allowed us to achieve a unique share of regional suppliers. Where shipping is concerned, we opt for the most environmentally compatible methods to keep emissions down.

People at Commend

At Commend, we are as passionately committed to environmental protection as we are to technology and innovation. Care for the environment is rooted in our corporate culture, and we have committed ourselves to environmental issues to incorporate environmental care into our daily activities. Many of our colleagues at work opt for environmentally friendly means of travel to the office as a matter of principle, supported by our sponsoring programme for discounted national public transport tickets (“Climate Tickets”).

As part of our Eco-Trust Programme, we invite the feedback of our colleagues and customers to help us constantly improve our environmental measures. For us environmental protection is not just a task but a conviction we live out every day, whether at work or otherwise.
